When you think Ginger Factory, you generally think ginger, and while ginger permeates every aspect of this popular tourist attraction, there are so many facets to The Ginger Factory. First of all there is the obvious; the ginger factory and gift shop. The gift shop stocks a multitude of ginger goodies from fabulous ginger edibles ( I have a weakness for the gummy bears) right through to ginger fragranced skin care products, kitchenware, cookbooks and then some, while the factory itself has a viewing dock where you can watch it all happening. Then there is the Superbee Honey Shop which covers everything in the world of honey; honey, honey comb, royal jelly, propolis and a whole range of associated products. There is also a honey demonstration which allows you to taste the various flavours of honey, which I can vouch are quite varying. A must is a wander around the grounds. There is nothing quite like a relaxing walk through the Ginger Factory’s garden, which are filled with many varieties of ginger family, the summer months, being the most spectacular when most of the exotic flowers are in blooms. But there are a few pretty surprises throughout the winter months as well. Either way, it is a lovely setting. However, my favourite for the day was the Overboard Ride. The boat ride follows the journey of a freshly baked gingerbread man, who travels the world in his escapade from the clutches of his hungry cooks. And connect with my inner child I did as my little boat wove its way through a colourful and fun display of puppet and song.
The Cooks searching for the Gingerbread Man[/caption] Of course there is lots more; Gingertown, with its unique little set of shops of yesteryear, the Ginger Train tour, and the Ginger Cafe where you can have some more ginger inspired goodies for lunch and enjoy the full experience. One thing is certain, you won’t run out of things to do, see or taste, and even better, admission is free. The Ginger Factory 50 Pioneer Road, Yandina, Sunshine Coast http://www.gingerfactory.com.au/

Noosa looks the best at either end of the day. In my opinion. The way the sun glints off the water, gets caught in the footprints in the sand, moves across the landscape; makes the soul sing.
When you live on the Coast, an outdoor picnic makes you feel like you're on holiday. When you ARE on holiday, it’s a wonderful way to explore places on the Sunshine Coast you may not have considered.
