Taste, Learn, Laugh. Food festivals unite communities through the celebration of food growth and production. They have a history of honouring the earth gods, that can be traced back thousands of years.
The Real Food Festival may not have a history which can be traced back thousands of years, but it will return to Maleny on the beautiful Sunshine Coast on 8-9 September 2012. Real Food is about taking time to get back to basics. It is a celebration of food which has been grown or produced in the Sunshine Coast bioregion according to the slow food principles of ‘good, clean and fair’.
The weekend is all about authenticity, and to be inspired by passionate producers and chefs, while having a fun, family day out. There will be over 100 stalls covering a wide range of food and food-related interests, from primary producers to prepared food, with cooking demonstrations featuring talented local chefs, together with high-profile guest chefs. Come to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland for the weekend: visit a farm, participate in a cooking class, walk in the rainforest, shop in delightful mountain villages and indulge at one of the many excellent cafés and restaurants. Choose from a range of accommodation options including luxury spas or a bed and breakfast. Best of all, come and see where good food comes from, and follow the food chain from paddock to plate.
Christmas is quickly approaching. So it’s time to enjoy and indulge in plenty of Sunshine Coast Christmas celebrations. There are festivities across the region so start planning now.
