The Big Day at Crowne Plaza, Pelican Waters

James Rose Posted 4/3/2012 by Romance and Weddings

A stretch limo appeared, majestically rounding the corner, while fuschia bridesmaids and grey bridegroom's giggled and chatted in the Crowne Plaza foyer. A photographer bustled like paparazzi about the couple who emerge from the limo. Must be a wedding. Paul and Jacqueline, the two lucky souls celebrating their nuptials here at Caloundra’s Crowne Plaza wandered about amid the excitement, like they’d done all this before.  They are celebrating that moment in time that will linger in their hearts and memories forever. She looked lovely in, well,  an ivory wedding dress (hey, you’re not expecting fashion details from me are you ?) and he was smooth in a light grey suit. Aww, they seem so nice... Inside all was abuzz as the magic couple’s arrival became known. But, the newlyweds had already shot upstairs for their portraits against the spectacular backdrop of the Hinterland behind Caloundra.

  Brides eye view

Amid Crowne Plaza Pelican Waters Golf Resort and Spa’s slick and shiny interior, it all looked chez elegant and classy. Megan, the Crowne’s Commander-in-Chief of Weddings, was cool and calm, smiling through it all like she was born doing this. It is Megans job to inspire the bride and groom with luxurious accommodation, glorious backdrops and first class service for a heavenly beginning to their life together. Soon the couple sashayed downstairs and as the Tibrogargen Room, full of eager guests waited, they approached. All held their breaths as the two strolled in, beaming the wedding smile, and Jacqueline struck a neat twirl on the stage before heading towards the bridal table. Time for me to leave. Thanks Paul and Jacqueline and CONGRATULATIONS. Nice one Crowne. These guys know how to put on a hell of a wedding spread and throw a mean party as well as help with important decisions such as flowers, hair and makeup, theming and decorations, celebrant, photography and entertainment.

Crowne Plaza Pelican Waters changed names in January 2013 and is now known as Pelican Waters Golf Resort and Spa.
